About Rachel
After leaving college with a BTEC Diploma in Business Studies I spent most of my working life as a Financial Advisor. Fast forward two children and my love of sport, active lifestyle and fascination of the human anatomy I found this wonderful career of Sports & Remedial massage therapy.
I have completed a Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy from the prestigious London School of Sports Massage and I am registered with the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage.
I have competed in many sports over the years but triathlon was my main love. I competed in many races from super-sprint to half-ironman distance and represented GB in my age group in triathlon and always found sports massage invaluable in my maintenance and injury prevention.
Whether you take part in a sport, sit at a desk all day, carry the kids around or perform in an orchestra, our bodies suffer a lot of stress and postural imbalances. Deep tissue massage and remedial techniques help to restore these dysfunctions and encourage postural change.

How Can We Help You?
Sports Massage
Sports massage is designed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. Sports massage emphasises prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons, working to reduce restrictions of joint and soft tissue range of motion. You will notice that sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, helps prevent injuries and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance.
What Happens During a Sports Massage?
Sports massage therapists will use a variety of techniques to achieve the desired goal. I use general massage techniques to stimulate circulation of blood and lymph fluids, and deeper techniques to break down adhesions in the muscles, and stretching techniques to increase range of motion.
You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage.
Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is a deep soft tissue treatment used to address a specific problem. A range of hands-on techniques will be used with the aim to facilitate a change to the soft tissue layers, from superficial to deep with the primary goal to reduce pain.
The focus is on working the layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia to restore functional movement and encourage postural change. Soft tissue work will help to restore correct muscle tone, symmetry and balance with the goal of realigning the soft tissue influence on joint position.
Massage treatments differ according the presenting symptoms and client’s needs. Treatments combine clinical assessment with general massage and advanced soft tissue techniques such as;
• Muscle Energy Technique
• Soft Tissue Release
• Fascial Release Technique
• Neuro-Muscular Technique
• Positional Release Technique
Strapping & Taping
I am also able to provide strapping and taping or acute soft tissue injuries, support and pain relief.
